1.Will I feel pain during the surgery?
Absolutely not. Before the procedure begins, you’ll be given general anesthesia, which ensures you remain completely asleep and feel no pain throughout the surgery. That’s the whole purpose of anesthesia!
2. How long will I need to stay in the hospital after surgery?
Most patients are discharged within 24 hours after laparoscopic surgery—thanks to its minimally invasive nature.
3. How big are the incision marks?
This is one of the most common questions I get—especially from my female patients who are understandably concerned about scarring. The good news? The incisions are very small—typically between 0.5 cm to 1 cm (about the size of a pencil tip). They heal quickly and leave minimal, often barely visible, scars.
4. When will I be allowed to eat after surgery?
You’ll usually start with light food after 6 hours, and by 24 hours, most patients can resume their normal diet—often just before discharge.
5. What are the risks involved?
Like any surgical procedure, laparoscopy carries some risks—but they are very low, especially when performed by an experienced team.Your risk level depends on factors like age, overall health, and any pre-existing conditions (like diabetes, heart disease, or respiratory issues). That’s why we always do a thorough pre-anesthetic evaluation before surgery—to ensure you’re fit and safe. With proper assessment and care, complications are extremely rare.
